Namifiers VP Elected to UV Chamber Board

Namifiers’ Vice President of Marketing, Brad Gasaway, was sworn in yesterday to the Board of Directors of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce.  An installation banquet was held at Utah Valley University in honor of both the exiting and newly elected board members.

Brad Gasaway

The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce is fresh off a
countywide alliance to represent more of the collective business voice in the area.  What was formerly the Provo-Orem Chamber of Commerce officially rebranded itself in the Fall of 2009.

Gasaway will be joining forty other elected board members or honorary advisors from all over Utah County.  The accepted term for all new leaders is three years, during which he will have designated responsibilities within two sub-committees of the board, the Small Business Council and the Utah Valley Advisory Council.

“I am happy to be considered for this role,” commented Gasaway.  “Our valley has a lot to offer, and I see this as chance to share perspective and promote healthy business connections.”

In addition to board recognition, Gasaway was presented with the Chamber Champions Award at the event.  This was presented to Namifiers for its sustained contribution to furthering the business community with steady growth, job opportunities, and solid business practices.

Employee of the Year: Tony DiFiore

“If I perfect and grow my area, Namifiers will grow.”

A tradition at Namifiers Christmas Parties is to pause the festivities and duly honor an individual as Employee of the Year.    This past month, Tony DiFiore joined the ranks of those bearing that special title in our company history.
Since starting with Namifiers, Tony has worked hard to understand the diverse processes associated with his area, Wide-Format Printing.  He has come to champion our ideals for speed and quality, to the point where his line holds the company record for most consecutive orders without a Corrected Order:  569.
Prior to working here at Namifiers, Tony performed pre-market maintenance service on Ivory Homes for two years.   He was involved in different sales positions before that, including a period where he sold the acclaimed Kirby Vacuums.  Whatever his memories were from those selling days, that time was most important for meeting his future wife, Christin.   At the time, Christin’s job was to go around setting up sales demonstrations for the other sales staff.   Today, they are the proud parents a brand new baby boy.
Riding the coat tails of his immediate goals are the lifelong dreams of buying a home, owning a beefy truck, and traveling to Italy someday.

Congratulations Tony!  Keep it up!

Hobbies:  Home Improvement,  Playing the Guitar
Favorite Movie:  Avatar
EOY Take-Home Prize:  $1,000  (Wal-Mart gift cards)
Contributions:
Since joining the Namifiers team in August 2008, Tim has demonstrated an excellent reliability with every workload he has been given.  He has proactively improved the efficiency and contribution margin of the Laser Engraving Line by reducing waste, operating at low error rate, and by prolonging the life of our laser equipment with regular maintenance and cleaning.

Q&A with Tim Hulse:
In your opinion, what does it take to be the Employee of the Year?
A good attitude, vision for the company, and the expectation to do better today than you did yesterday.
How have you been able to make a difference in your area?
I took what was given me and expanded upon it.  I stay on top of all the orders that run through my line, I have taken the initiative to develop some products, and I have kept my area and equipment very clean.  That last item has been significant because our laser engravers run a lot better than they used to and they will end up lasting a lot longer.
What do you enjoy most about working at Namifiers?
Being able to work with my wife, Lisa, ahttp://whynamify.com/blog/tim.jpgnd having that general atmosphere of friendship here at work.
In what ways have you grown from your experience here at Namifiers?
I have a shy personality, working here has given me opportunities to interact with co-workers and improve on my skills in communication, delegation, and overall problem solving.
What are you going to do with all those gift cards?
Buy groceries and a new office chair for my home computer.

Springville Chamber of Commerce – Getting Involved

http://www.whynamify.com/blog/50.jpgIn September 2009, Namifiers donated a lot of time and product to the Springville Chamber of Commerce to help raise scholarship funds for local students.  Our very own Chris Jensen served on the Springville Chamber Board of Directors through the end of 2008.
So, how can you get involved?
The best way is to be aware.  Take advantage of opportunities to contribute to worthy causes.  Talk about where you work and what makes it a great place.  And be sure to carry some of our Namifiers Pocket Brochures with you at all times.  These have awesome pass-along value and make it super easy to show others what we are all about.
