We Print T-shirts… by Sean Fitzgerald

We print T-shirts of all types and are certain to be ahead of the competition when it comes to same-day service, quality and customer care… Somewhere in the early 19th century it became customary to use under garments that today would be called underwear. These under garments were usually made of pure refined cotton or even silk if you were so privileged.  Near the turn of the century the underwear shirt, or the undershirt, was developed and widely accepted as a part of the modest person’s attire.  This under-appreciated garment would remain unseen to the average on-looker until our sensitivities would allow for people to wear this “under garment” on the outside.
Research indicates that during WWI, American soldiers were issued wool garments.  However, our troops noticed the European forces wore a cotton undershirt which served as a cooler option in warmer climates.  It quickly became popular among American soldiers and the style was immortalized on the July 13, 1942 cover of Time Magazine.  Later on, the U.S. Navy began issuing the “crew neck” t-shirt with an innovative elastic collar.  Troops were often photographed wearing nothing more than a t-shirt to cover their upper torso and from 1948 to 1952 t-shirts were printed to support popular political campaigns such as the famous “I Like Ike” campaign which helped catapult Eisenhower to office.  It was by 1955 that the t-shirt became accepted by the general public as acceptable day-to-day attire, this opened the door for millions of advertising and marketing campaigns that would later use the t-shirt as their vehicle for success.
Today, t-shirts are typically made with a cotton/polyester blend.  These materials are great for durability and color fastness, allowing the owner to keep their T-shirt for years without losing its color or durable qualities.  Some brands of t-shirts, such as Hypercolor, change colors depending on the surrounding temperature.  Other companies are developing t-shirts that display images like a LCD computer screen. Here at Namifiers we print t-shirts of all types and are certain to be ahead of the competition when it comes to same-day service, quality and customer care.
